Giclée Prints

Refers to the process by which these limited edition prints are made. The original image is first photographed. While under the supervision of the artist, it is refined and printed using a high-resolution continuous tone process in which millions of droplets of special ink are sprayed onto 100% cotton archival watercolor paper. Factoid -Giclée (zhee-clay), is derived from the French for "sprayed,"

The result is a fine art print of enduring quality. Our Iris Giclée prints are known for there detail, subtlety and superb color range for the highest quality in the industry. Lithographs are also another way to have limited prints which artists sign. They were first done using large soapstone's then many printers began using printing plates. Serigraphs are a very good way as well although Giclée prints are what have become popular as of lately. With prints it is quality which stands out, these Iris Giclée's are printed on archival Summerset 100% rag cotton paper that will never yellow, in combination with Pinnacle Gold ink. These individually signed prints have a guarantee of the greatest longevity.

However bear in mind it really boils down to the art itself, if an original is sold then the next best thing is a signed, limited edition quality print by the artist. Picasso to Miro had made only so many original works of art so they signed a limited edition of prints, which are worth a small fortune as prints.

Limited Editions

The prints in this series were made from paintings in the artist's own collection and from private collections. Each subject has been reproduced in a limited edition, usually no more than 250 in number. Edition sizes have been purposely kept small to maintain the value of
each print.

Every print is individually hand-pulled, one at a time, on archival 100% rag watercolor paper using the highest quality inks to create a print with significant detail and contrast. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity verifying the edition size and denoting that the finest inks and paper are used. Unless otherwise requested, prints come with a hand-cut, museum-quality archival mat.
